It will come a day ahead of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presenting the first budget of the Modi 2.0 government.

This will also be the first Economic Survey to be tabled by Subramanian, who took up the job of Chief Economic Adviser in December 2018, nearly six months after his predecessor Arvind Subramanian had resigned amid his tenure citing personal reasons.

The Economic Survey also comes amid the controversy stoked Subramanian, the former CEA, through a research paper in which he suggests that the government has overvalued GDP growth between the period of 2011-16. The Centre has rebutted his claim, saying that India adheres to the globally recognised method of calculating its gross domestic product.
