Earthquake of 3.6 Magnitude Shakes Palghar District of Maharashtra
An earthquake measuring 3.6 magnitudes on the Richter scale shook Maharashtra's Palghar district on Sunday evening.
Palghar, January 20: An earthquake measuring 3.6 magnitudes on the Richter scale shook Maharashtra's Palghar district on Sunday evening, said India Meteorological Department. There were no reports of casualties and damages reported following the earthquake that was of low intensity, according to authorities. Residents of Palghar's neighbouring areas also experienced weak tremors on Sunday. This comes after Palghar witnessed two similar earthquakes in November and December last year. Earlier on December 2, Palghar witnessed an earthquake of magnitude 3.1 at around 1:38 am. The quake was recorded at a depth of 13km having its epicentre in Dahanu. On November 24, an earthquake measuring 3.3 was recorded in Palghar district at 3.15 pm.
