An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale hits parts of Jammu and Kashmir. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the earthquake took place in the morning.

A mild earthquake was reported in the hilly state of Uttarakhand, located to the north of India, late on Saturday. The intensity of the tremors was found to be low by the geological survey, with no damage to life and property being suspected. Indonesia Earthquake, Tsunami Death Toll Reaches 1,649.
According to news agency ANI, the earthquake struck the Udham Singh Nagar district at 8:37pm. The tremors measured 3.4 magnitude on the richter scale, it reported. The epicentre of the quake was yet to be confirmed, although local media sources reported it to be Rudrapur.
