New Delhi, July 6: An earthquake hit Sonipat area of Haryana again on Friday, July 6, with tremors being felt in areas around the city. The earthquake reportedly measured 3.5 on the Richter Scale. Tremors were also felt in Delhi NCR among other areas at 4.44 pm.

This is the second earthquake in the area in the past one week. On July 1, an earthquake was reported in Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR), Haryana and other parts of North India. 

The magnitude of the quake was measured as 4.0 on the richter scale. The tremors had originated from Sonipat in Haryana at 3:37 pm on July.

The North Indian states of Delhi, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir are located close to the seismic belt of Hindu-Kush region, which is considered prone to earthquakes.
