Ukhrul, July 13: An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 on the Richter scale struck the Ukhrul region of Manipur on Saturday, July 13. According to a tweet by ANI, the quake hit the region around 8:39 pm today evening. So far, no casualties or any damage to property has been reported in the earthquake. On June 20, panic gripped people in Maharashtra after a mild earthquake was felt in the state. The mild tremor was felt in the Satara region in the evening at about 7:48 pm. On June 12, an earthquake of magnitude 2.3 on the Richter scale hit north Gujarat's Ambaji and Palanpur region.

In February, a series of earthquakes hit Maharashtra's Palghar district. According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), tumours with magnitudes ranging between 3 and 4.1 on the Richter scale hit the region. The district has witnessed six such tremors since November last year till May 2019.
