Earthquake in Jammu And Kashmir: Quake of 4.0-Magnitude Strikes Near Pahalgam

A medium-intensity earthquake hit Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday evening. According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) the quake of magnitude 4.0 on the Richter Scale jolted the union territory at 6:56 pm on Sunday. The earthquake reportedly struck near Pahalgam twon of Anantnag district.

Srinagar, November 8: A medium-intensity earthquake hit Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday evening. According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) the quake of magnitude 4.0 on the Richter Scale jolted the union territory at 6:56 pm on Sunday. Till now there are no reports of any collateral damage of injuries due to the quake. However, panic gripped the area after the quake. People even rushed out of their houses as a precaution. More details are still awaited.

It is the second quake in two days in Jammu and Kashmir. On Saturday also, an earthquake of magnitude 4.1 on the Richter scale hit near Pahalgam. The tremors were felt at 04:29 am. Mo collateral damage was reported.
