Mumbai, October 6: Dry days are a part of elections in India, as the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) bars the sale of all kind of liquor for two days or 48-hour period ahead of the polls, that ends with the conclusion of voting. According to Mumbai city collector Shivajirao Jondhale, the sale of liquor will be prohibited in Mumbai from October 19 to 21 and October 24. What are Dry Days?

Dry days are specific days when the sale of alcohol is prohibited. According to alcohol laws in India, on dry days, liquor is not available for sale in shops, bars, pubs or lounges. However, it doesn't stop people from consuming alcohol.

The voting in Maharashtra will take place on October 21. Along with Maharashtra, Haryana is also going into polls. The counting of votes and announcement of results is scheduled on October 24.
