Indore, January 13: In an appealing case, five people including Bharatiya Janata Party leader Jagdeesh Karotiya and his three sons were arrested on Saturday for allegedly killing a woman Congress worker's 22-year-old daughter who had gone missing two years ago in Madhya Pradesh's Indore. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DGP) claimed that the plot was inspired by Ajay Devgn starrer 'Drishyam' which released in 2015. The accused were identified as Jagdeesh Karotiya, his sons Ajay, Vijay, Vinay and their associate Neelesh Kashyap. According to police reports, Jagdeesh Karotiya was having an illicit relationship with the victim, causing a dispute in the Jagdeesh's family as the woman wanted to stay with him. Due to a family disagreement, Karotiya and three of his son plotted murder to kill the victim, Twinkle Dagre. The accused strangulated her and later burnt her body.

Talking to ANI, Harinarayanchari Mishra, DIG Indore said, "Accused called Municipal Corporation to dig a pit on a plot of land they owned, claiming they need to bury a dog. They burnt victim's body there and threw remains in nearby sewage. 2-3 days after the crime, they tried to generate the location of victim's phone to create confusion." "Accused mentioned that they had watched Hindi movie 'Drishyam',and inspired from that, spread rumour about the burial of a dog. Jagdeesh Karotiya had relations with the victim. His name was tattoed on victim's arm. This led to dispute at accused's home & so he planned her murder, " said DIG Indore. The Crime came to light when police officials recovered ornaments from the place, where, Dagre was burnt, following which the accused were arrested. "We used Brain Electrical Oscillation Signature test for interrogation. Police had received information that they had buried something near crime spot. This info was leaked on purpose. Police found remains of a dog after digging the spot," Said Mishra.
Police said that they used Electrical Oscillation Signature (BEOS)test for interrogation. BEOS test is a neuro-psychological technique, also referred to 'brain fingerprinting', in which the crime is detected by eliciting electrophysiological impulses. Meanwhile, all the accused are arrested under various sections of Indian Penal Code for murder.
