Kanpur, July 8: In a heart-wrenching incident, the daughter of a renowned psychologist in Gorakhpur died by suicide on the morning of July 7, shortly after learning of her husband’s suicide in Varanasi. The double suicide case has sent shockwaves across Uttar Pradesh.

According to a report published by Amar Ujala, the deceased woman was identified as Sanchit Srivastava, while her husband was named Harish. The husband, who had been employed at a private bank, reportedly resigned due to pressure from bank officials. On Saturday, he left Gorakhpur, ostensibly heading to his village in Patna. Instead, Harish travelled to Sarnath in Varanasi, where he checked into a hotel and died by suicide. As the family prepared to travel to Varanasi, the psychologist’s daughter climbed to the top of their residence in Civil Lines, Gorakhpur, and jumped. Locals rushed her to the district hospital, but she was pronounced dead on arrival.
