Thane, October 10: Residents of a society in Mumbai's neighbouring Thane have been allegedly threatened to stay indoors after a series of stray dog attacks. The development comes after 10 to 12 residents of Saket Complex in Thane were allegedly bitten by stray dogs. The victims include residents of the society and the security guard as well.

Following the rise in stray dog attack incidents, residents are now seen using lathis to defend themselves against canine attacks. According to a report in Mid-day, the residents of Thane's Saket Complex have not received any assistance so far despite complaining to authorities, including Rabodi police station, the municipal corporation, PETA and Maneka Gandhi, among others. Thane Bestiality Horror: FIR Against Watchman for Unnatural Sex With Dog in Bhiwandi, Probe Underway.

Where is Saket Complex Located?

Saket Complex is a residential society located in Thane West. The society comprises 28 buildings with 672 flats and nearly 4,000 residents. After a spike in dog attack cases, society members have collected several CCTV footage which shows the incidents of stray dogs attacking the residents. Several residents, including men and women and even the security guards, have been bitten by dogs.

While the society is not against dogs, Gopal Chary, chairman of the society, said that a solution has to be found to deal with aggressive dogs. Shraddha Parab, a woman who feeds dogs inside the society, said that canines attacking the residents are not from the society but from outside. "We have put identification collars on the dogs we feed, but these are different dogs," she added. Stray Dogs Kill Deer in Thane: Deer Mauled to Death by Street Dogs Near Pond at Kutal Baragaon Village.
