Shimla, July 21: A dog bite incident has been reported from Himachal Pradesh, where a pack of stray dogs reportedly bit a woman in Shimla. The alleged incident occurred on Saturday, July 20, in Shimla's Lower Bazaar area when the woman took her pet dog out for a walk. After being bitten by a pack of start dogs, the woman was rushed to a government hospital by nearby shopkeepers.

According to a report in the Indian Express, the dog bite incident has created panic among local residents, who have accused the civic body of not taking adequate measures to stop the stray dog menace in the area. The incident took place near Mall Road, a tourist spot. The man, identified as Raghuvir Yadav, said a pack of 4-5 stray dogs went running behind the woman, who quickly took her pet dog in her lap to avoid a dog fight. However, the pack of stray dogs went on to bite the woman on her left leg. Yadav also said that a 7-year-old boy was also bitten by a stray dog a few days ago at the same place.

Dog bite incidents have been on the rise in Shimla's Lower Bazaar area. Inderjeet Singh, a former area councillor, demanded adequate steps to curb the stray dog menace. Singh also said that butchers' waste disposal in the nearby meat market has made the stray dogs aggressive. Meanwhile, Bhupender Kumar Attri, the civic commissioner of Shimla, said that the civic body is doing its best to curb the stray dog menace in the city.
