Diwali Tragedy in Rajasthan: Boy Critically Injured While Trying To Burst Firecracker Made Watching YouTube Video in Jhunjhunu

Jaipur, October 29: Diwali has turned tragic for a 13-year-old boy who sustained injuries while trying to burst a firecracker he made by watching a YouTube video in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu. The boy was critically injured after he followed a YouTube tutorial on making explosives for firecrackers at home.

According to a report published by News18, the injured boy was identified as Himanshu. Reportedly, on Monday, October 28, Himanshu purchased sulphur and potash, a fertiliser containing water-soluble potassium, using INR 100 he had taken from his mother, Rekha, under the pretext of buying juice and chocolates. The report said while igniting firecrackers with an iron tool, Himanshu accidentally struck the bottle in his pocket, causing a powerful explosion that severely injured his leg. Himanshu’s mother, Rekha, shared that she was unaware of his plans and had left for Pilani after giving him the money. The family is now hoping for his recovery as he receives medical treatment in Jaipur.
