Diwali 2018: Narendra Modi Wishes Nation on Deepawali, to Celebrate With ITBP Jawans at Harshil

PM Modi will visit Kedarnath temple and inspect the progress the undergoing reconstruction projects at Kedarpuri.

New Delhi, November 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished nation on the occasion of Diwali today. PM Modi will celebrate the festival of light with jawans of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) at Harshil in Uttarakhand later today. He will visit Kedarnath temple and inspect the progress the undergoing reconstruction projects at Kedarpuri.

Greeting nation on Diwali, PM Modi tweeted, "Happy Diwali! May this festival bring happiness, good health and prosperity in everyone’s lives. May the power of good and brightness always prevail!" Responding to Diwali greetings from Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Modi said, "Every year, I visit our border areas and surprise our troops. This year too, will spend Diwali with our brave troops. Spending time with them is special." PM to Inaugurate Ring Road and Babatpur Airport Road in Varanasi.

PM Modi said he would share the photos of the same Wednesday evening. Modi also thanked Bibi, as Netanyahu is called, for the Diwali wishes. He will visit Kedarnath temple at 9.45 AM and offer prayers. This is his first visit to Kedarnath since he became the prime minister. After offering prayers, he will leave for Harsil station.

At Harshil station, he will spend time with jawans of ITBP and the Army. Harsil station is situated at over 8000 ft from the sea level and is close to India-China border. PM Modi has been celebrating Diwali with security forces. In 2015, he celebrated Diwali with BSF jawans on the LoC near the Indo-Pakistan border in Punjab.

In 2016, PM Modi was with ITBP jawans in Himachal Pradesh. Last year, he spent time with Army soldiers at Gurej in Jammu and Kashmir on Diwali.
