Mumbai, June 24: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' 'Varsha' bungalow has been declared a defaulter by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday. The decision comes after the civic body found that over Rs 7 lakh water bill is pending. Apart from the CM, names of 18 Maharashtra ministers are also in the list of defaulters. The information regarding non-payment of bills by Maharashtra ministers was revealed in reply to an RTI filed by activist Shakeel Sheikh. Other state ministers who were named in the list include Sudhir Munangtiwar, Vinod Tawade, Pankaja Munde, Subhash Desai, Eknath Shinde and Mahadev Jankar. The RTI reply revealed that over Rs 1 lakh is still pending for Mungtiwar’s 'Devgiri' Bungalow, and Tawde’s 'Sevasadan'. Meanwhile, Rs 2 lakh is pending for Desai’s Bungalow 'Puratan' and Shinde’s Nandanvan.
Fadnavis’ bungalow is located at Malabar hills, high profile area of Mumbai. The bungalow has a complex with an office for the CM, a waiting hall and a meeting area, a pantry to cater to the visitors and other amenities.
