Mumbai, November 23: Decision on government formation in Maharashtra is likely on Saturday, ending the weeks-long logjam in the state. President's rule was imposed in the state after no party staked claim to forming the government after the Shiv Sena-BJP fallout, and Shiv Sena talking to Congress-NCP to form government in Maharashtra. In a huge twist on Saturday morning, Devendra Fadnavis took oath as chief minister and Ajit Pawar of NCP took oath as the deputy CM.
At least three police personnel were killed and one left critically injured in a naxal attack carried out in Latehar district of Jharkhand. The "surprise Maoist" assault, as officials have described it, was reported at around 8:30 pm on Friday. The identities of the deceased were yet to be confirmed, but one of them is reported to be a sub-inspector.
