Mumbai, May 15: In the latest development, Mumbai police have appointed Mumbai Joint Commissioner of Police - Deven Bharti - as the new Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Maharashtra Police on Wednesday. As per initial details, the senior cop would head the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) Maharashtra. Sanjay Barve to Take Over As New Mumbai Police Commissioner, Subodh Jaiswal To Be Maharashtra DGP.

Along with the initial information, it can also be known that Santosh Rastogi has been appointed as the new chief of the Mumbai Crime Branch. With the new appointment, the strength of the Maharashtra police has strengthened.
In February, Mumbai Police Commissioner Subodh Jaiswal was promoted as the new Director General of Police of the state. Also, to replace him as the Mumbai chief, DG Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), Sanjay Barve was named.
