Dense Fog Hits Train Services in Northern Railway Region, 26 Delhi-Bound Trains Delayed Due to Low Visibility

New Delhi, January 5: As many as 26 Delhi-bound trains were running late due to low visibility in the Northern Railway region on Sunday. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), dense fog was recorded in parts of India. Reports inform that the trains were delayed by two to five hours due to fog in several parts of northern India. The National Capital Region (NCR) on Sunday witnessed shallow fog with visibility of 800 metres in the early morning hours. Moreover, the air quality recorded under the 'poor' category.
Passengers faced inconvenience as train services were disrupted. According to Northern Railway officials, Hyderabad-Nizamuddin Dakshin Express, and Mumbai-Amritsar Dadar Express were delayed by 5 hours on Sunday. Also, Puri-New Delhi Purushottam Express was delayed by 4 hours and 45 minutes.
According to a report by IANS, the Katihar-Amritsar Express was running 4 hours and 15 minutes behind its schedule, Hyderabad-New Delhi Telangana Express and Chhindwara-Delhi Sarai Rohilla Express were also delayed by 4 hours.
On Saturday, at least 19 Delhi-bound trains were delayed by 2 to five hours due to dense fog while the air quality of the national capital improved from the 'very poor' category to the 'poor' category.
