Delisle Bridge-Parel ROB in Mumbai Shut for Vehicles and Pedestrians From July 24; Check Alternate Routes

Mumbai, July 23: The Delisle bridge-Parel ROB (Lower Parel railway bridge) from Shingte Master Chowk, Urmi Corporate Office building and Lower Parel Workshop building will be shut for vehicles and pedestrians from Tuesday. According to a report by TOI, the Delisle bridge will be shut from 6 am on Tuesday, July 24. The move comes after a detailed inspection of the bridge was done by IIT-Bombay, MCGM and the railways.
The report further informs that the closure of the bridge has been requested by Western Railway for safety after a detailed technical study showed that the bridge should be dismantled as soon as possible.
In wake of the closure, alternate routes have been suggested. Traffic proceeding from Bharatmata junction to Shingte Master Chowk shall take a left turn from Shingte Master Chowk towards NM Joshi Marg, the TOI report states. Meanwhile, traffic proceeding from Arthur Road Naka to Shingte Master Chowk on NM Joshi Road to take a right turn at Shingte Master Chowk towards Bharatmata junction.
Also, traffic proceeding from Sant Rahidas chowk is advised to come straight to Balkrishna Gawde chowk (Wadacha Naka) and Yadav chowk and may go straight to Rakhangi Junction on Senapati Bapat Road while that going from Worli Naka to Yadav Chowk on Ganpatrao Kadam Marg shall take right or left turn at Yadav chowk for Senapati Bapat Marg.
