The Police investigation into the matter is currently underway. According to police, the deceased is a school teacher and was shot dead in Bawana area on her way to the school.
The incident questions the law and order situation the capital city. On Sunday, two unidentified, bike-borne men shot a pharmacy firm employee and stole his motorbike near Delhi's Kalkaji Mandir Flyover. A similar incident was reported from Bawana earlier this month where a woman was shot at in broad daylight. Reports inform that she was battling for life in a government-run hospital. Earlier this month, a 23-year-old woman was shot at by a man in east Delhi’s Harsh Vihar, a report by the Indian Express informed. According to police, the woman, identified as Neha Thakur, had left home for work and soon after the accused, Pradeep Sharma (28), pulled up his bike near her and shot her. On October 1, a 31-year-old man was shot dead allegedly by two men in northwest Delhi's Mahendra Park area. According to a PTI report, the victim, identified as Ankit, was shot dead around 8.30 am. A senior police official was quoted by PTI saying the family of the deceased claimed that this might have happened due to a woman with whom he was in a relationship.
