According to the IMD, the minimum temperature recorded at Safdarjung observatory was 2.6 degrees Celsius (6 degrees lower than average). The climate was a bit colder at two other places in Delhi. Lodhi Road shivered at 2.2 degrees Celsius, while at Ayanagar it was 2.5 degrees Celsius.
Since last week, the northern part of India is reeling under severe cold wave condition. Parts of Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Bihar and Rajasthan saw a dip in mercury levels.
