Delhi Weather Update: Heavy Rainfall Expected in Delhi-NCR Region, Humidity Touches 94%
According to reports, some areas in Noida, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida also received rainfall. "The sky will remain mostly cloudy with light to moderate rain throughout the day in the National Capital Region (NCR)," an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.
New Delhi, July 22: Heavy rainfall in the national capital resulted in waterlogging in several areas, disrupting normal life. Commuters had to bear the brunt of heavy rain and they had to drive their vehicles through waterlogged roads. The heavy downpour lashed several parts of north Delhi, including GTB Nagar, Burari, Model Town, Mukherjee Nagar, Azadpur, Timarpur, Civil Lines.
In the last 24 hours, Delhi has received 7.9 mm rainfall. The Safdarjung observatory, recording of which is considered the official figure for the city, recorded 7.9 mm rainfall till 8.30 AM. The MeT office has predicted more rains for the rest of the day. On Sunday, the minimum temperature settled at 26 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average while the humidity was recorded at 94 per cent, a MeT department official said.

According to reports by PTI, the areas under Palam, Lodhi Road, Ridge and Ayanagar received 6.2 mm, 10 mm, 23.8 mm and 9.4 mm rains respectively in the same period. The minimum temperature on Saturday was recorded at 28 degree Celsius, one notch above the season's average, while the humidity level remained high at 81 per cent.
