New Delhi, June 24: After months of sweltering heat, the national capital is likely to get some respite from heatwave conditions and humidity in the coming days. On Monday, resident in Delhi woke up to a cloudy and humid morning with the minimum temperature settling at 27.4 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average. Reports inform that humidity was recorded at 74 per cent while the minimum temperature is believed to drop down to 27 degree Celsius on Monday. Monsoon Update: Heavy Rainfall Drench Karnataka, Kerala; Coastal Maharashtra to Experience Heavy Downpour in Next 24 Hours. 

According to a forecast by India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi is believed to witness cloudy skies and rain for the next few days, starting from Monday. Reports quoted IMD senior officials saying that fresh western disturbance is likely to trigger some rain in Delhi from Monday. Ahead of the downpour, the national capital witnessed a maximum temperature hovering around 41 degree Celcius over the weekend.

The IMD forecast cloudy sky with possibility of light rain and thunderstorm accompanied by gusty winds for Monday. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 36 degrees Celsius. On Sunday the maximum temperature was 40.5 degrees Celsius and recorded a low of 28.6 degrees Celsius, with no traces of rainfall. On Saturday, the day temperature at the Safdarjung observatory was recorded to be 40.3 Degree Celsius, two degrees above normal. At Palam, it was 42.4 degree Celcius.
