New Delhi, October 9: A government hospital in Delhi sent a journalist to buy medicine even as he suffered a heart attack, leading to his death in a queue at the pharmacy. The family of former TV journalist Deepanshu Dubey has filed an FIR against the hospital for medical negligence. Dubey died of heart attack on Friday last week.
Dubey, a resident of Kanpur, came to the government-run Hedgewar Hospital after chest pain. After a preliminary examination, doctors at the hospital asked Dubey to get some medicines from the pharmacy. Standing in the queue waiting for his turn, Dubey suffered a heart attack and died on the spot, reported a leading daily. Speaking about the incident, Dubey's friend Anjum Husain said when he arrived at the hospital he saw some doctors pumping Dubey's chest. “Some people at the spot, including a cop, told me that he fell while standing in the pharmacy queue. Dubey had been living in Delhi for over a decade. He worked as a news anchor with different news channels. In January this year, he turned entrepreneur and started his news portal. Dubey is survived by his parents, a sister and his widow. His last rites were performed on Saturday.
