Delhi Traffic Police Issues Advisory Ahead of Narendra Modi's Swearing-In Ceremony: Check List of Roads Blocked and Diverted
Roads leading to the Rashtrapati Bhawan, along with its vicinity will be diverted or temporarily blocked between 4pm to 9pm in wake of the swearing-in ceremony.
New Delhi, May 30: In wake of the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi, the Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory. Roads leading to the Rashtrapati Bhawan, along with its vicinity will be diverted or temporarily blocked between 4pm to 9pm in wake of the swearing-in ceremony. A multi-layer security cover has been deployed in the region, as heads of six foreign states would be arriving to witness Modi taking oath to office.
The list of roads which would be completely closed down for vehicular movement for the five-hour period include Rajpath (from Vijay Chowk to Rashtrapati Bhawan), Vijay Chowk and adjoining areas including North and South Fountain, South Avenue, North Avenue, Dara Shikoh Road and Church Road.
Apart from the following arterial roadways, traffic snarls would be witnessed on 15 major roads in the capital. They include Akbar Road, Teen Murti Marg, Krishna Menon Marg, Pandit Pant Marg, Talkatora Road, Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Road, Tyagraj Marg, SP Marg, Kushak Road, M Kamaraj Marg, Rajaji Marg, Shanti Path, Raisina Road and Motilal Nehru Marg.
The swearing-ceremony is scheduled to begin at 7pm. Narendra Modi, along with his Council Ministers, would be administered oath to office by President Ram Nath Kovind. Nearly 6,500 esteemed guests would be in attendance to witnessed the historic ceremony.
