New Delhi, June 17: Hours after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal condemned the police action and assured strict action against the accused cops in the tempo-driver and his son clash, Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday sought a report from the Commissioner of Police, Delhi, as the video went viral and all over social media.
According to the reports, videos of Delhi policemen publicly thrashing a Gramin Seva driver in Mukherjee Nagar area went viral on social media on Monday. Soon after this, Kejriwal condemned the incident and assured the victim of strict action. Though he didn't speak to media, but posted his anger through his Twitter handle. Kejriwal tweeted, "It's an unfortunate incident. We condemn the incident. I appeal to the LG & Home Minister to take strict action against the accused police officers."

The brawl began when a police officer was injured allegedly after being attacked by a 'Gramin Seva' tempo driver in Mukherjee Nagar. The video of the tempo driver, chasing the police with a sword following a collision between their vehicles, has gone viral on social media. Another video shows the driver threatening the cops with a sword, while in another purported video, the policemen were seen thrashing him with batons.

In the wake of the incident, three policemen have been suspended for unprofessional conduct with a tempo driver. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest Delhi) Vijyanta Arya suspended Assistant Sub-inspector Sanjay Malik and Devendra and constable Pushpendra in connection with the case.
