New Delhi, February 21: Days after the terror strike in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, in which 40 CRPF jawans were martyred, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday approved entitlement of air travel all to the personnel of Central Armed Paramilitary Forces (CAPF) on several sectors including Delhi-Srinagar, Srinagar-Delhi, Jammu-Srinagar and Srinagar-Jammu. The MHA said the decision taken by the Narendra Modi government will immediately benefit approximately 780,000 CAPF personnel.

The new decision will help the jawans cut down on travel time during their journey to and fro from home on leave. The MHA said this facility is in addition to the existing air courier services for CAPFs that have been steadily extended in all sectors by the MHA. After Pulwama 'Success', Jaish-e-Mohammed Planning Bigger Terror Attacks 'Outside Kashmir'. 

The ones who will be benefited by the decision include all officials in the ranks of Constable, Head Constable and ASI who were otherwise not eligible earlier. Earlier this month, the MHA had launched a massive recruitment drive to fill more than 76,500 vacancies in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). Reports inform that out of the 76, 500 vacancies, 54,953 vacancies are for the post of Constable (General Duty), the recruitment process for which is being conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC).
