New Delhi, February 19: In what is believed to be a miraculous escape, a woman on a bike was thrown off the Vikaspuri flyover in the national capital after being hit by a speeding vehicle. Reports inform that despite the horrific 50-feet fall, in which the woman survived with severe injuries. The woman, who was riding a pillion, was caught on camera flying on the road below the flyover after being hit by an unidentified vehicle. According to a report by Hindustan Times, the victim has been identified as Sapna. She is currently undergoing a treatment in Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) hospital.

The report informs that Sapna’s two friends, who were riding with her on a motorcycle at the time of the accident, were not thrown off the flyover but sustained severe injuries. The report quotes Police saying that all three victims work in a salon in west Delhi’s Meera Bagh and the tragic road accident took place while they were on their way back home. According to details, the CCTV cameras outside several stores on the road captured the woman’s fall but none of the cameras captured the accident on the flyover. The footage showed Sapna landing behind two parked cars after falling off the flyover.

DCP Bhardwaj was quoted in the report saying that some unknown vehicle hit the bike and because of the impact, Sapna fell from the flyover. The victim lives with her family in Delhi’s Budela village. Meanwhile, the search to identify the vehicle that hit the woman is currently underway. A case of rash and negligent driving causing hurt has been registered at the Vikaspuri police station.
