Delhi, September 15: In a chilling incident in east Delhi's Geeta Colony, a man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his wife in a brutal act of jealousy and rage. Kishan Lal, 32, is accused of slitting the throat of his 27-year-old wife, Sunita, following a violent argument spurred by suspicions of infidelity. After the gruesome attack, Lal reportedly sat beside her lifeless body for about 20 minutes before police arrived.
As reported by Times of India, the tragic incident unfolded in east Delhi’s Geeta Colony when Kishan Lal, a 32-year-old resident of Geeta Colony, followed his 27-year-old wife, Sunita, to her mother's house. Lal, who had been troubled by frequent arguments over Sunita’s friendship with another man, demanded to speak with her privately. He convinced Sunita’s mother, Vimala, to leave the house, locking the door behind her once she complied. According to a Republic TV report, Lal's request for privacy led to a fatal confrontation. After Vimala exited the house, Lal locked the door from the inside and began a violent argument with Sunita. The situation quickly escalated, and Lal began to physically assault her. Despite Sunita’s desperate cries for help, Vimala was unable to open the door. Lal reportedly stuffed a cloth into Sunita’s mouth to muffle her screams before using a kitchen knife to slit her throat. After the murder, Lal remained near Sunita's body for approximately 20 minutes, which added to the horror of the scene. The police, alerted by Vimala’s attempts to get help, forcibly broke down the door and discovered Sunita's body lying in a pool of blood. She was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead upon arrival. Following this an FIR was filed against him under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including murder, and further investigation is underway.
