New Delhi, March 24: In a shocking incident, a man in the national capital murdered a 12-year-old boy, stuffed the kid’s body in a sack and later dumped it in a drain. The accused, who was arrested on Friday for committing the crime, intended to make money on the pretext of helping the boy’s parents find their son, who was missing since two weeks. The report quotes Atul Kumar Thakur, deputy commissioner of police (north-east) saying that the 22-year-old suspect has been identified as Nanhe. The son had gone missing around two weeks ago from Shiv Vihar area. Police informed that the man was among four suspects named by the boy’s parents after he went missing nearly a fortnight ago. Giving further details, the police said that the boy was a resident of Shiv Vihar of Karawal Nagar. According to the report, when the boy did not return home, a kidnapping case was registered. The boy’s mother, in her statement to the police that he had left home around 7.30 pm on March 11. However, after police conducted searches, the boy’s body was found in a drain around noon on Friday.
As soon as the incident was report, an investigation into the matter was initiated. “The boy had told his sister that he was going to meet Nanhe,” said the DCP. The boy’s father informed a local resident spotted the sack and the boy’s body as his leg was popping out of the sack and alerted the police.
