Delhi, October 21: Three men have been arrested in Delhi for their involvement in a robbery where one of the suspects posed as a traffic police officer and signalled a car to stop, robbing the driver of Rs 50 lakh. According to multiple reports, the accused have been identified as Mahender, aged 21, Sandeep, aged 34, and Harender. The incident was reported by Inderpal, an assistant accountant working for a pan masala company, who had collected Rs 50 lakh in cash from Kucha Ghasi Ram in Chandni Chowk on October 11.

Reports indicate that the money was placed in the car's boot. As Inderpal approached the Saleem Garg flyover at around 4:15 pm, two individuals on a motorcycle, one wearing a traffic police uniform, signalled for the car to stop. Two more suspects arrived on another motorcycle, opened the car's boot, and made off with the bag containing the cash. Following the robbery, the Delhi Police launched an investigation, including an extensive assessment of technical surveillance and arrested Mahender in Alwar, Rajasthan, and Sandeep in Greater Noida. During questioning, it was revealed that the trio planned the robbery after receiving information about Inderpal's route and choosing the spot to intercept the vehicle. Various items, including the police uniform, helmets, face masks with the Delhi Police logo, a black mask, a handcuff, and a toy wireless set, were recovered upon Sandeep's arrest. The accused also disclosed that Harender had plans for a high-profile kidnapping for ransom, with the victim to be held in a hideout. Police are currently conducting raids to apprehend the remaining suspect.
