New Delhi, October 14: A 30-year-old daughter and a property dealer have been arrested along with a minor in connection with the killing of a 65-year-old woman, which took place on September 27 in Delhi’s Dayalpur. Cops said the deceased had 25 injury marks on her face, neck and back.
According to a report in TOI, the accused daughter, Chintamani, wanted to sell the property of her mother, Shivkala, in Delhi's Nehru Vihar through dealer Ashok Sharma (50). The cops on September 27 found dead body of Shivkala inside her shop-cum-home on the ground floor of a building. She was found on the floor with multiple injuries to her body, mainly to the face and head, with sharp and blunt objects. Deputy commissioner of police (northeast) Joy Tirkey said, "We found that the woman owned the two-storey house where she was found dead. A minor was spotted in CCTV footage loitering near her shop just minutes before the crime."
Police then managed to trace the suspect. "He revealed that Chintamani had paid him Rs 2 lakh. When questioned, Chintamani said she wanted to sell off her mother's property but the elderly woman was against it," Tirkey said.
The police stated the victim was about to shut her shop when the minor allegedly sneaked in and killed her with an iron rod and a pair of scissors.
