New Delhi, December 27: A school girl on Friday gave roses to a Delhi cop urging him to maintain peace in the national capital amid the ongoing protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). According to a tweet by ANI, the school kid gave the roses to DCP of North-East Ved Prakash Surya. "I have decided to give him roses and ask him to maintain peace in the area. I believe such disturbances due to protests shouldn't have happened", the girl said. The incident comes days after protesters of citizenship law offered roses to security personnel at the Jantar Mantar and several other places in the national capital.

Amid the ongoing protests over the CAA, several protesters were seen offering roses to security personnel with their message being 'love in return for hatred'. Last week, a picture of a girl giving a rose as a sign of peace to the police official in the national capital went viral on social media. In the heart-warming gesture, the cop was seen smiling at her in return. The photo was widely shared on social media showing a heartwarming moment amid tensions during the protest.

Here's the tweet:

After the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) was passed in the Parliament, making it a law (CAA), the nation witnessed a widespread protest with scores of students, activists, and opposition leaders crowding streets of Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, among other cities, and challenged the strong security repression. Amid the ongoing protests, Section 144 was implemented in various parts of India and the national capital faced the closure of the Internet.
