According to the Delhi Police, a call was received around 1 am, following which the bag was found at arrival gate number two of Terminal 3. "The bag was removed with the help of CISF and shifted to another place. It has not been opened yet. It seems like there are some electric wire inside it. We have increased the security of the airport premises," Sanjay Bhatia, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Airport), told news agency PTI.

"As per tests, it is explosive positive. Though we suspect it to be RDX, it is not confirmed yet. Since there is suspicion, we are taking all precautions. There is no confirmation until the bag is opened and corroborated with physical checking," Anil Pandey, DIG Operations and Chief PRO of CISF, said.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Delhi Police and Bomb Disposal Squad officials were present at the Delhi airport. Passengers were not allowed to leave Terminal 3 for some time. The roads outside the high-security complex were also blocked.
