New Delhi, July 26: Heavy rainfall lashed Delhi and its National Capital Region (NCR) on Thursday morning, bringing respite from humidity. Waterlogging was also reported in adjoining Noida and some parts of Delhi. The Safdarjung Observatory, Meteorological (MeT) department reported that the maximum temperature in the city settled at 32.2 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was recorded at 28 degrees Celsius.
Severe water-logging in parts of Ghaziabad city due to heavy rainfall in the area. A Delhi Traffic Police advisory informed that traffic is affected at Ghazipur Murga Mandi, Khajuri Chowk & Modi Mil flyover due to waterlogging. Traffic is also affected at Minto Road under bridge and Chatta Rail. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature settled at 32.2 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average, while the minimum was recorded at 28 degrees Celsius, a notch above the normal, said a Meteorological (MeT) department official.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there would be generally cloudy sky with moderate rain in the national capital. Maximum temperature was recorded at 32.2 degree Celsius. Private Weather agency Skymet weather said that the reason for these spells is the axis of Monsoon trough is passing via North Madhya Pradesh.
On Wednesday, waterlogging was reported from Etawah in Uttar Pradesh. Reports informed that vehicles got stuck in a waterlogged road on the under-bridge connecting Mainpuri, Saifai and Agra, following heavy rain last night.
