New Delhi, July 21: Heavy rains lashed parts of Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR) on Tuesday afternoon. More parts of Delhi and NCR will witness rainfall and thundershowers during the next two hours, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Heavy downpour is likely in Delhi, Farukhnagar, Manesar, Gurugram, Sohna, Nuh, Palwal, Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, Noida and Karnal.
Heavy downpour caused waterlogging in low-lying areas in the national capital. Subsequently, the Delhi traffic police alerted citizens about diversions on roads. Minto road, where a person had died after drowning on July 19, was also flooded for some time this afternoon. The IMD has sounded an orange alert in Delhi for the next three days, predicting heavy rain at isolated places till Wednesday. An orange alert is given to authorities to be prepared.
