The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded a "severe crackdown" against miscreants among the minority community who have resorted to arson. The party has blamed the "appeasement politics" of the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the situation which has erupted in the national capital.
"This is the result of 70 years of appeasement politics. The people of minority community in these areas have come out and resorted to vandalism, despite being assured that the CAA is not intended to revoke their citizenship. We demand a severe crackdown," said BJP MLA OP Sharma.
