New Delhi, October 15: In a shocking incident, a Delhi police head constable identified as Sarabjeet Singh was killed by unknown assailants on Sunday. Reports inform that the incident took place in Meerut’s Kharkhauda area. The deceased who has been identified as a resident of Aalamgirpur Badhla, was on leave and had come to Meerut last week to spend time with his family.
According to a report by TOI, the brutal incident took place when Singh, who was posted at Delhi's Sultanpuri police station was on his way back with his wife Sangeeta Kaur and their six-year-old daughter Sukhmani. The family was returning after attending a public function at a local gurdwara in Kawrata village when the incident occurred. Delhi Air Pollution: Emergency Plan Rolled Out.
The report informs that a case of murder against three unnamed accused has been lodged at Kharkhauda police station. Reports inform that three assailants on a motorcycle intercepted Sarabjeet’s car around 3:30 PM. Sangeeta Kaur, wife of the deceased said that her husband was on phone and was driving slowly, but the three men on a motorcycle asked her husband to stop the car. Describing the incident to the Police, his wife said that after he spotted a gun in their hand, she asked him to speed off and the moment they tried to escape, one of them opened fire at Sarabjeet. The Police has initiated an investigation into the matter to ascertain the cause of the murder. Apart from Police, a forensic team was sent to gather evidence from the spot. Soon after the incident, Sarabjeet, who was badly injured was immediately rushed to a city hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The hospital authorities had declared him brought dead.
