New Delhi, July 19: In a tragic incident, a CRPF personnel was killed and two others were critically injured in a road accident in the national capital on Thursday night. According to reports, the deadly incident took place when the son of a Noida businessman rammed his Mercedes into a car occupied by three paramilitary personnel. The car then collided with a traffic light on BRT corridor, damaging all its parts. Reports inform that all the injured ones were taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre. Out of the three, one succumbed to his injuries while two are in critical condition. The accident site comes within the limits of Greater Kailash police station. The three CRPF troopers who were travelling in the car include Constable driver Vinod Kumar, 36, Babu Lal Yadav, 38, and Narender 24. According to police, the accident took place around 11 PM when an over-speeding high-end car hit a taxi and then collided with a traffic light pole. As soon as the incident was reported, Police rushed to the spot to take a stock of the situation.

According to reports, the Mercedes driver has been detained by police. An investigation into the matter has been initiated. According to Police, the injured persons were in a taxi and the luxury car driver did not sustain any injury due to airbags. "A PCR van took all the injured to AIIMS trauma center, who are said to be in a critical condition," police said.
Earlier this month, at least 29 people were killed and several were injured after a Delhi-bound bus fell into a drain on Yamuna Expressway. According to reports, the Uttar Pradesh Roadways bus, which was on its way from Lucknow to Delhi, met with the accident near Agra.
