New Delhi, July 17: The Delhi Police rescued a 14-year-old orphan girl who was trapped in a sex racket in Ajmeri Gate area of the national capital on Tuesday, July 16. The cops also arrested a woman who allegedly "purchased" her. The victim came from Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor to Delhi in search of a job but ended up being flesh traded at a brothel in Shradhanand Marg near the city's Ajmeri Gate area.

As soon as the police officials got the information about the girl being trapped, a team of cops and members of an NGO quickly arrived at the spot. The victim was immediately rescued and taken to a children's shelter. Anjali was arrested. "She revealed that she was brought here (to Ajmeri Gate) a few days ago by one Anas from Zakir Nagar in the Okhla area and was handed over to Anjali," the officer said. (With PTI inputs)
