Delhi on Alert After Inputs of Possible Terror Strikes During Ongoing Festive Season, Police Conduct Raids at Several Locations

New Delhi, October 3: The Delhi Police Special Cell has been conducting raids at several locations across the national capital after receiving inputs on likely terror strike in the city. On Wednesday, the Police had sounded an alert in the national capital after inputs from central intelligence agencies about the presence of Kashmiri insurgents in the city.

According to a reports by Hindustan Times, several insurgents, who may have entered Delhi may carry out terror strikes during the ongoing festival season. After specific inputs, the deputy commissioners of police (DCP) of all 15 districts were ordered to beef up the security at important installations across the national capital. The DCP also directed the officials to ensure maximum mobility of police personnel on streets to avoid any such terror strikes.

The senior official, on request of anonymity was quoted by HT saying that following the inputs, anti-terrorist measures had been intensified at several railway stations, metro stations, markets and malls. Moreover, CCTV cameras installed at these places were being regularly examined to monitor suspicious activities.

In September, the Army had warned of possible terror attacks in South India. The forces had received intelligence inputs saying that they had recovered abandoned boats from Sir Creek in Gujarat. Before that,  an alert was also issued about a possible terror attack on Indian Air Force's air bases in Gujarat. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had ordered officials to be alert to thwart any possible terror attack in the state.
