Delhi Metro Security to Get Belgian Malinois Guard Dog, the Canine Breed That was Reportedly Part of Osama Bin Laden Raid
Khoj, a Belgian Malinois dog from the same breed a member of which is speculated to accompany the US Navy Seal team that killed al-Qaeda's chief Osama bin Laden, is set to join the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) official in protecting the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
Delhi, July 19: Khoj, a Belgian Malinois dog from the same breed a member of which is speculated to accompany the United States Navy Seal team that killed al-Qaeda's chief Osama bin Laden, is set to join the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officials in protecting the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. The CISF brought Khoj, which translates to 'search' in English, from a breeder last week, reported Hindustan Times.
Khoj has been sent to CRPF dog training centre for 10-month training. It is reported that the dog will help officials in identifying fidayeen attackers with explosives, etc. The buying and training of dog which cost over Rs one lakh was funded by Delhi Metro. In India, these dogs are being used in Maoist affected areas and by the National Security Guard (NSG). The canines are also used at Assam's Kaziranga National Park to track down the poachers, reported Hindustan Times.
Belgian Malinois dogs rose to fame for assisting the US Navy Seal officials in a raid at Osama Bin Laden, a global terrorist, hideout in Pakistan's Abbottabad. But there are no officials confirmation, some reports also suggest that German Shepherd could have accompanied them.
