Delhi Metro's Grey Line, which connects Dwarka to Najafgarh will be formally flagged off on October 4 by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Meanwhile, Passenger services on the section shall commence from 5 pm on the same day.
New Delhi, September 30: Delhi Metro's Grey Line, which connects Dwarka to Najafgarh will be formally flagged off on October 4 by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Meanwhile, passenger services on the section shall commence from 5 pm on the same day. The metro line has got the mandatory approval from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS). The total length of the corridor is 4.29 km. CMRS Janak Kumar Garg also carried out a safety inspection. On Thursday, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) in a tweet said, “Grey Line Update, The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety, Shri Janak Kumar Garg has accorded the mandatory approval for the commencement of passenger operations on the 4.295-km long Dwarka-Najafgarh section. The date for commencement of operations shall be intimated shortly.” Delhi Metro Given Grant of Over Rs 400 Crore in Union Budget 2019.

The grey-line will have three stations, Dwarka, Nangli and Najafgarh. While Dwarka and Nangli are elevated stations, Najafgarh is underground. Trial runs of the grey line had begun in July. Commuters can change to Blue Line connecting Dwarka Sector-21 to Noida Electronic City and Vaishali in Ghaziabad. According to reports, the corridor will be further extended by another 1.18 kilometres till Dhansa Stand, which is scheduled for completion by December 2020.
