New Delhi, June 6: Days after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that rides on the city’s metro and buses would be free for women, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri questioned the working style of Aam Aadmi Party convenor on Thursday. Puri was of the opinion that schemes cant be made in haste and accused Kejriwal of practising the same for long.
Expressing his opinion on the free ride for women in Delhi Metro, the Union Minister said, as ANI quotes, "BJP is all for women. We'll do anything for women if it's possible. But schemes are not made like this that you announce it first and then make a proposal. Same thing he did in case of unauthorised colonies." Narendra Modi Walking on Hitler's Path, Says Arvind Kejriwal.
It is to be known that on Monday Kejriwal announced that the Delhi government will bear the cost of the free rides. However, he also asserted that precise details of the scheme were yet to be worked out. He had said, "We're also seeking suggestions from people, regarding implementation."
On one side, people in Delhi are praising Kejriwal for the remarkable move, but opposition parties are slamming AAP government and opine that this has been done in a haphazard manner to gain voter base after Lok Sabha debacle in the national capital.
