Delhi Metro Corridor Extension Approved by Cabinet; Dilshad Garden-New Bus Adda Route to Start Soon
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Wednesday approved the Delhi Metro's Red Line extension. The new extended line will be 9.41 km.
New Delhi, January 23: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Wednesday approved the Delhi Metro's Red Line extension. The new extended line will be 9.41 kilometres, which will connect Dilshad Garden to New Bus Adda in Ghaziabad, reported news agency ANI. In the extended route there will be eight metro stations. The first station will be Shahid Nagar, after which the metro stations will be constructed in Raj Bagh, Rajendra Nagar, Shyam Park, Mohan Nagar, Arthala, Hindon River and New Bus Adda. An official told Hindustan Times that, "The rolling stock is being provided by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and land has been provided free of cost by the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA)." Meanwhile, earlier last month, central government approved extended metro services between Faridabad and Gururgram. Union Minister of State, Krishan Pal Gurjar informed that the project would cost 5,900 crores including 3,777 crores for land acquisition. He further told that the project is expected to be completed by March 21, 2021, and will be open to the public on April 1, 2021.
