Delhi: Man Who Was Waived Gun at by Ex-BSP MP's Son is Gaurav Singh, Son of a Former Congress MLA

New Delhi, October 16: A political rivalry is being suspected behind the startling incident caught on camera outside a 5-star hotel in the national capital, where ex-BSP MP's son Ashish Pandey hurled expletives at a couple and waived his gun at them. The man who was target of the abuse has been identified as Gaurav Singh, the son of former Haryana Congress MLA Karan Singh.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday (October 14), has drawn flak from all sections after its clip was shared on social media. Union Mos, Home, Kiren Rijiju tweeted the clip and said the Delhi Police is investigating the case. "Delhi Police has initiated action on this incident which is also being shown in the media. FIR has been registered under Arms Act and IPC. Strong and appropriate action will be taken. Also verifying the identity of others." Rijiju said.

Pandey, who is yet to be arrested, is a realtor based in Lucknow. His father Rakesh Pandey had earlier represented the Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party in the Lok Sabha. Pandey's brother Ritesh, meanwhile, is an incumbent BSP MLA in the Uttar Pradesh assembly.
The accused is suspected to have left for Uttar Pradesh following the incident of Sunday. The Delhi Police said it has issued a look-out notice against Pandey. In the case registered against him, he has been booked under provisions of the Arms Act.
