New Delhi, October 22: Suspecting his wife of having an illicit affair, a 24-year-old man strangled his wife to death in front of his two-year-old daughter in Central Delhi's Kamla market on Friday night. Police said that the man after committing the crime sat next to the body for 24 hours before going to the police station and confessing to the crime on Sunday. Man Murders Wife Over Extramarital Affair, Confesses Crime in a Self-Shot Video & Kills Himself.

The man was identified as Kamil and was working as a peon in a Delhi University college. The body of his 22-year-old wife Reshma, which had already turned blue, was found on the mattress. The deceased's parents had accused Kamil of torturing and killing her for dowry. The man was booked for the relevant sections of Indian Penal Code for murder.

According to the police, Kamil came to police station carrying his daughter for surrendering himself. The girl was handed over to Kamil's family after Reshma's parents refused to take her, police said. He told police that he was in an intoxicated state and had a fight with Reshma over her increasing closeness to two men in the same locality and after losing his cool, he thrashed Reshma and strangled her to death.
