Delhi: Man Kills Friend to Marry His Wife, Throws Body on Railway Track; Arrested

A man who was desperate to marry his friend's wife decided to murder him and make it look like an accident. According to reports, the accused then tried to be a well-wisher by helping the victim's wife deal with grief. When confronted by police, the accused tried to cook up a story that the man was run over by a train. But after interrogation, he confessed to the crime.

Delhi, June 26: In a love angle which turned tragic, a man who was desperate to marry his friend's wife decided to murder him and make it look like an accident. According to reports, the accused then tried to be a well-wisher by helping the victim's wife deal with grief. When confronted by police, the accused, identified as Gulkesh, tried to cook up a story that the man was run over by a train. However, after cops recovered his clothes with blood stains, he confessed to the murder. Gulkesh used to work with the victim in a factory. They were the resident of West Delhi's Mohan Garden and were knowing each other for over a year. Gulkesh used to visit, victim, Dalbir's house and used to impress his wife with gifts. On June 24-25 night, Gulkesh called Dalbir near the railway tracks for a conversation. After a while, he asked Dalbir to wait at an isolated spot while he relieved himself. The accused then hit him on the head with a brick, rendering him unconscious. Later, he moved his body to the railway track. After a train had run over him, he called the police and informed about the accident.

During the primary investigation, Gulkesh made all-out efforts to mislead the police. "During interrogation, his mobile phone was checked and it was disclosed that he had an illicit relationship with the wife of the deceased. He wanted to marry the wife of the deceased, but the wife of the deceased was not willing to marry him although she also liked him. Therefore, he hatched a conspiracy to eliminate the deceased," the police release said. Meanwhile, police are investigating if Dalbir's wife or any other people are involved in the case.
