New Delhi, August 6: A massive fire broke out in a multi-storey building in Delhi's Zakir Nagar on Monday night. According to the latest ANI update, six people were killed and more than 11 people were left injured in the incident. Around 20 people have been rescued from the building. Several are also being currently treated in the hospital ICU. Fire at 10-Storeyed Residential Building in Pitampura, Firemen Rescue 100 Residents.
As per latest reports, authorities rushed five fire tenders to the spot and the fire has been now doused. The fire was reported at the electricity meter of the building and soon the raging flames spread across the parking lot.
Most of the people were sleeping when the incident took place, some tried to jump off from their balconies to escape the fire. The Fire department had to face a lot of challenges in dousing the fire because the lane in which the building is situated is extremely narrow, making it difficult for the rescue operation to take place properly.

In June, when a major fire broke out at a 10-storeyed residential building in northwest Delhi's Pitampura, more than 100 residents were rushed to safety and no one was injured in it. A few residents complained of mild suffocation after inhaling fumes but did not require medical attention. Fifteen fire tenders took nearly three hours to extinguish the flames.
