New Delhi, January 21:  With an aim to provide safety to women, All-women cab service was flagged off by the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) at Terminal-3. The cab service was launched in a partnership with a privately-owned company Sakha. The service was launched on January 10. Initially, there are 20 cabs. According to a report, published in CNN News18, each woman cab driver has received self-defence training. Sakha Consulting in a tweet informed woman commuters about the location from where they can board a cab. Sakha Consulting tweeted, “Ladies! Your for women by women cab service are now at Delhi Airport. Check out our exclusive booth at Arrival Forecourt T3, opp Gate no: 6- Pillar no: 16.” To Ensure Women Safety over 5,500 Marshals to Be Deployed in Delhi Buses.

As per the report, Commuters can book these cabs from the counter stationed outside the terminal. They can also book the cab online. To book a cab physically, commuters need to visit the Sakha counter at T3. For online booking, one needs to visit Sakha’s website www.sakhaconsultingwings.com or IGIA’s website, www.newdelhiairport.in. They can also be booked by dialling the numbers 9999193004 or 9278708888.

Last year in December, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) also sanctioned Rs 100 crores from Nirbhaya Fund for setting up and strengthening of Women Help Desks in Police Stations. The new scheme will be implemented by the states and Union Territories.
