Delhi, September 30: A woman in Dwarka, Delhi, was allegedly raped by a man who called her for a fake job interview.  According to the police statements released on Monday, September 30, the woman was acquainted with the man. The suspect, who is reportedly an electrician, was arrested by the police.

The incident was reported on September 29 at the Mohan Garden police station. According to a senior police officer, authorities received a PCR call on Sunday regarding a reported rape at the Mohan Garden police station. The investigation revealed that the victim had been approached by a man who lured her under the pretence of offering her a job opportunity. The woman, trusting the man's intentions, agreed to meet him on Sunday. In a similar incident in Delhi A 22-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a 25-year-old man in a flat in Vasant Kunj, southwest Delhi, after being lured with a job offer. The victim had been contacted by a woman on social media who offered to help her find employment. After sharing the woman's contact details with the accused, he called the victim and asked about her job preferences, inviting her for an "interview" on September 9.

The accused picked her up from Delhi Aerocity metro station and took her to a room, where he forcibly took her documents and sexually assaulted her. After threatening her with dire consequences if she reported the incident, he dropped her off near the metro station. Following the victim's disclosure to her family, a case was registered, leading to the arrest of the man and his female associate. DCP (southwest) Rohit Meena confirmed the arrests and stated that the investigation is ongoing.
